I am from the St. Louis, MO area where I live with my boyfriend Keith, and my two children, Austin (7) and Serenity (5). We also have two cats, Toby and Moe. I work in the hotel industry and when I am not working or with my family, I am of course, scrapbooking or altering something around the house. I have been paper crafting since 2009 when I was given a scrapbook kit for my birthday. After putting it together I realized that there was a much better way to preserve my families memories and photos than in just a standard photo album. I have been creating pages ever since.

If you are a paper crafter like me, you probably have lots of paper scraps lying around your studio. I wanted to put my scraps to good use, so I created this collage of ripped up scraps that I had in my scrap drawer. I took my chipboard cover and used Mod Podge to adhere various ripped scraps all over the chipboard. After the adhesive had dried I used some Distress Ink in Vintage Photo to go over the collage, and then sealed it all with some more Mod Podge. I added the trim to the sides of the chipboard using my glue gun so that it would stay in place. The title was then added, using the glue gun, as well as all of the various decorative embellishments. I have a ton of the vintage milk caps so I used them to add a little extra to the bottom of the hanging. I am very happy with how this turned out. It was really simple to make, and looks great on the wall!

A few questions for Emily...

How long have you been scrapbooking?
I’ve been scrapbooking for over two years now.

What is your favorite technique?
Paper pleating and distressing of any kind!

Who or what inspires you to be creative?
My two children are my biggest inspirations but music is also a big inspiration to me as well. I’m a music freak. I am a firm believer that music is extremely important.

Would you rather live inside the game Clue or Candy Land?I would love to live in Candy Land of course.... there is always something to eat or drink there! Not to mention, I would be afraid of getting murdered in Clue... that’s not something I would enjoy! ;)

Thank you to Siobhan for this wonderful opportunity and to everyone for stopping by!

Hi Emily, nice to read about you. I agree about Candy Land, but only the version that has Queen Frostine. Although, I would like to visit Clue because I think I am a pretty good detective.
