Four Heart Friday: Pinterest Edition

I know that all across the interwebs there is a buzz about Pinterest. I told myself I was NOT going to get involved with ANOTHER site. I would resist the urge to sign up. I would hide from it at all costs. I would NEVER click those little P's on everyone's pages.

I failed.
I clicked.

and I am HOOKED.
Those of you already on Pinterest know that it would be IMPOSSIBLE not to fall in love with the lovely images. It's like We Heart It ONLY BETTER.

Why is it better?

First and foremost I think the absolute best part is that the site automatically grabs a link to the source and attached it to the photo you are pinning making it easy to share the things you love but also build an online catalog of the places you love to visit.

This comes in especially handy when you see a really awesome project or tutorial that you want to make. You know that HUGE drop down menu in your browser called *Favorites? Well mine is OVERFLOWING with links to websites that I have NO idea why I favorited them to begin with.

I'm sure I meant to make something or there was a helpful article I wanted to read, my biggest problem is that I favorited the site from the main blog address, not the specific post I wanted to look at later. Pinterest solves this problem by linking directly to the post the photo is listed in.

Now, some of you may be thinking how can I get in on this magical place, it's invite only? This is true and not true at the same time. Since I didn't know anyone on Pinterest personally when I wanted to join I clicked the join button and got on the waiting list. Within 2 hours I had an invite in my inbox and I was all registered and ready to go. The waiting list warns it can take a few weeks, but for me it was very fast.

So, if you want to get in on it, I can send you an invite (first some first serve they only give you a limited amount) if you post a comment below, or you can go click that join button and see how long the wait list takes for you.

Four Heart Friday: Give Momma Some LOVE!

(aka the 12 YO is sitting within 4 feet of the 2YO)

This is about the time I remember that I have kids, and of course they are awake because somewhere around this giant spinning ball the sun is up and people are going about their day. Of course most of those people live clear accross an ocean, but thats the way us mommies roll.

If you are a mommy, mom, mother whatever you know your payback is coming! Next week is Mother's Day and there may be just enough time to score some of these fantastic gifts for your momma (or me if you are feeling generous).

Four Heart Friday

Welcome to my favorite things every Friday. I know you are all just dying to know "What makes Siobhan go ga-ga", fear not friends, you are in luck. Every Friday I will be bringing you my four favorites of the week. I just want to add as a note that I am not a sponsored blog (yet, hint hint), so my picks here are not influenced by any kind of personal gain (I have also added a page to archive my picks in case you missed one or want to find it again). Enjoy!

I live in a state that has snow 9 months of the year so anything warm and comfy makes me swoon, and seriously how beautiful is this Oatmeal Cowl? WarmMeUp: Hand knit items for the heart and soul, has so many beautiful pieces, I can't decide which one I love the most.

A girl can never have to many adorable accessories right? The most amazing thing about this shop (aside form the gorgeous colors and textures of the beautiful rosettes) is the fact that the creator of these beauties is ONLY 15! Not only is she a successful business owner, but she posts regularly to a witty and fun blog (link on her page). I love to see industrious youngsters succeeding at making their mark on the world in a positive way, GO PAIGE!

I am a craft and mail junkie, and I want EVERYTHING in this shop. Can you imagine how adorable these tapes would be on layouts, cards and art journals? Um, I think YES.

I always toyed with the idea of getting a tattoo of my kids names somewhere on my body, but I am squeemish about pain and needles, I was thinking these beautiful neclaces may be a good alternative? The pea pod is killing me!

I started tracing and cutting some large scallop shapes, but honestly I was too impatient to continue tracing and I just started to freehand them after the first 3 or so...

I have some Basic Grey packs, some lace die cut papers by imaginice, I don't knwo who makes that glitter paper I've had it a while and some Lost & Found...

It's time to get down and dirty! and by 'down and dirty' I of course mean 'inky'. I had the weirdest dream last night that I spent the day scrapbooking so that is what I am going to do! I have a ton of cute ideas for St. Patrick's day cards, layouts and I am applying for a few more DT calls too. Are you interested in becoming a design team member for scrapbooking products? Why am I so in love with weddings? I have always been in love with wedding photos, arrangements, flowers, favors everything unique and fun and special that comes along with a big fancey wedding, a private pretty wedding or a rustic country wedding.
